In collaboration with educators from Scripps Institute of Oceanography, the Alliance was invited to present our Climate Kids program at the Climate Summit portion of the 2018 California Science Education Conference.

In collaboration with partners from Scripps Institute of Oceanography, the Alliance was invited to present our Climate Kids program at the Climate Summit portion of the 2018 California Science Education Conference.

The California Science Education Conference is hosted and organized by the California Science Teachers Association (CSTA). Over 2,000 science educators from around the state attend the conference to make connections, generate new ideas, energize their teaching, and learn, and grow as professionals. The goal of the California Science Education Conference is to give California science teachers an opportunity to grow professionally in order to improve student outcomes in and access to a high-quality science education.

Alliance staff connected attendees with Climate Kids resources to help them engage their students with NGSS-aligned climate activities and messaging. Educators were able to interact with the Climate Kids Traveling Trunks and the newest CSA regional impacts module that translates the San Diego Ecosystems Assessment for K-12 classroom use.
