The Climate Science Alliance was excited to partner with Solidarity Farm once again to connect with youth on climate impacts to the food system and explore different actions they could take to help protect the earth and lower their carbon footprint.
The Climate Science Alliance was excited to partner with Solidarity Farm at Willow Tree School to connect with youth on climate impacts to the food system and explore different actions they could take to help protect the earth and lower their carbon footprint.
Climate Kids educators worked with youth to explore the impacts of climate change both globally and locally. Interactive games and demonstrations helped students understand the impacts of greenhouse gases on the planet and what they could do to help. Students also created their own interactive booths to introduce their parents to the concepts they had learned such as composting, recycling, and sustainable eating!
Solidarity Farm is a worker-owned family farm owned by the Pauma Band of Luiseño Indians. The farm is striving to create a stronger, healthier, more food secure future. They practice “ethical farming” meaning that they work hard to balance the needs of humans, animals, plants and nature in a way that honors each part of this interconnected system. While being a working farm, Solidarity Farms also hosts Farm School, an educational program that connects students to their community and the food system.
Climate Kids is honored to be invited to participate in events such as this one that promote healthy living, wellness, and build a more sustainable future.
