The Climate Science Alliance is excited to team up once more with our partners at the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy on a new project called “Through the Lens” sponsored by SDG&E’s Environmental Champions Program.

This coming year, the Climate Science Alliance is excited to team up once more with our partners at the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy (SDRVC) on a new project called “Through the Lens” sponsored by SDG&E’s Environmental Champions Program.

The “Through the Lens” Project, a new program at SDRVC, will teach 6th—8th-grade students about wildlife through the lens of camera-trap photos taken in the San Dieguito River Valley. Through in-classroom teachings and processing of camera-trap photos, students become citizen scientists and stewards of the land. The data gathered will contribute to future land-management plans in the hopes of maintaining and increasing habitat connectivity and adapting to regional climate-change effects.

The Alliance will be working with the education team at SDRVC to integrate climate themes, data, and activities into the “Through the Lens” program and expand climate education in our community.

Thank you to the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy for their continued partnership and to SDG&E’s ongoing dedication to environmental education in our community!
